
Ramban, June 17: In view of the upcoming celebration of the International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired meeting of senior officers at the DC Office Complex to review the preparedness for the event, which will be observed across the district under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban Kulbir Singh, SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hamid Ganaie, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, SDMs, Tehsildars, Dy. SPs, heads of various departments, and representatives of Beopar Mandal Ramban.
During the meeting, it was decided that the main district-level Yoga event will be organized at the District Administrative Complex, Maitra, while similar programs will be conducted at Sub-Divisional and Tehsil Headquarters and other designated locations across the district.
Deputy Commissioner briefed the officers on their respective roles and responsibilities in ensuring the successful conduct of the event. He directed all officers to ensure maximum participation of government employees from their respective departments, prominent citizens, youth of the area at the district-level function and other designated venues.
The District Nodal Officer for Yoga was directed to coordinate with all concerned departments to ensure smooth and foolproof arrangements for the event. The Chief Education Officer was instructed to arrange transport facilities for students and ensure submission of the list of officials and students participating in the district-level program within two days.
He urged the officers to work in close coordination to make the event a grand success and to promote the message of physical and mental well-being through yoga.
He also directed the line departments to make all necessary arrangements at the venues well in advance, including logistics, seating, water supply, power supply, PAS, and first aid, to facilitate smooth conduct of the yoga sessions across the district.
